Description

Follow the poignant story of Sarah, a strong and independent woman from Maine, who answers Jacob's advertisement for a wife and mother to his two children. As Sarah travels from her coastal home to the vast plains of the Midwest, she brings with her a sense of wonder and a promise of a brighter future. Sarah agrees to visit for one month before agreeing to marry Jacob, writing "I will come by train. I will wear a yellow bonnet. I am plain and tall," and "Tell them I sing."

Sarah begins to miss her old home in Maine. Will she leave, or will she stay and bring song and laughter to their prairie home?
