Description
Beyond The Hobbit, more dear than The Lord of the Rings to its author, The Silmarillion was J.R.R. Tolkien's first and last book. Begun in 1917, Tolkien shaped and molded the world that would eventually host Hobbits, Elves, Dwarves, and many other fantastical creatures and wondrous tales.
Detailing the beginnings of the world and its First Age, Tolkien spun marvelous tales, evolving his world, growing it, and refining it throughout his life. The Silmarillion was eventually edited by his son, Christopher, and was finally published and brought fully to life four years after its creator's death.
A must read for any Tolkien lover.
